Cosmetology Course

Blackwood Beauty School admits as regular students:

  1. High School Graduates
  2. Holders Of High School General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  3. Persons who are above the age of compulsory school attendance in Arkansas (sixteen years) and who have the ability to benefit the training offered.*

* Ability to benefit is determined on the basis of an evaluation which includes successful completion of an approved recognized industry ability to benefit examination. All prospective students without a high school diploma or GED must successfully complete the Ability to Benefit evaluation.

In accordance with Arkansas Act 465 of 1987, in all cases, no applicant will be allowed to enroll who has not finished ten years of secondary training or its equivalent.

Applicants Must Submit The Following:

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or other proof of education
  2. Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology application form
  3. Birth certificate or affidavit if under age 18
  4. Photo identification
  5. Social Security Card
  6. $75.00 registration fee (cash or check)
  7. $10.00 money order payable to "Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology" for the state board permit


Cosmetology Instructor Course

Blackwood Beauty School only admits as students:

  1. High School Graduates
  2. Holders Of High School General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  3. Holders of a current Arkansas Cosmetology License
  4. Those who are at least 21 years of age

Applicants Must Submit The Following:

  1. Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology application form
  2. Proof of education
  3. Photo identification
  4. Social Security Card
  5. $75.00 registration fee (cash or check)
  6. $10.00 money order payable to "Arkansas State Board of Cosmetology" for the state board permit
